Some seasons in a company's life feel different — like multiple pieces of a vision clicking into place at once. This is one of those seasons for Equate Education. We've got two new partnerships to announce, exciting product updates, a talented new team member on board, and the wrap of conference season. Here's what's happening and why it matters.
Proud to Partner with the Pathways Alliance

We Are Proud to Partner with The Pathways Alliance
When we built Equate Ed we built it with one belief at the center: that the people managing educator preparation programs — the directors, coordinators, mentors, and district partners — deserved better than a tangle of spreadsheets and disconnected systems. They deserved infrastructure that matched the complexity and importance of their work. That belief is exactly why being welcomed as a partner by The Pathways Alliance means so much to us.
The Pathways Alliance is doing the critical work of helping states and districts scale Residencies, Apprenticeships, and Grow Your Own programs — the very program types that Equate Ed was purpose-built to support. As they put it when announcing our partnership: programs are growing fast, the moving parts are complex, and the field needs tools that can keep up.
We could not agree more. And we are honored to be the technology partner they trust to help programs manage that complexity with clarity.
We look forward to the work ahead together — and to the stronger educator pipelines we'll help build.
Welcoming Delaware State University's Office of Clinical Practice and Partnerships

We are proud to announce that Delaware State University's Office of Clinical Practice and Partnerships has joined the Equate Ed community.
Delaware State University is using Equate Ed to manage clinical placement requirements across a variety of courses and programs — bringing structure, consistency, and visibility to a process that is central to the success of every candidate they prepare.
Specifically, DSU is leveraging Equate Ed to:
Manage clinical placement requirements across multiple courses and programs
Build historical records of candidates' clinical experiences over time
Capture mentor credentials and experiences — ensuring the quality and continuity of the mentorship their candidates receive
We are also pleased to be building a custom integration to connect with their existing systems, ensuring a seamless experience for their team.
What makes this particularly meaningful is how directly it connects to what the research is telling us. When clinical experiences are well-matched, well-documented, and well-supported, candidates are more prepared — and more likely to stay in the classroom. DSU is investing in exactly that kind of infrastructure.
Our system is designed to integrate with the systems your program already relies on — including Banner, one of the most widely used student information systems in higher education. Custom integrations are part of how we build partnerships, not just software.
We are honored to support the Office of Clinical Practice and Partnerships and look forward to growing together.
We could not agree more. And we are honored to be the technology partner they trust to help programs manage that complexity with clarity.
We look forward to the work ahead together — and to the stronger educator pipelines we'll help build.
What We're Hearing in the Field: NASDTEC and the Pearson Symposium
This month, we attended both the NASDTEC Annual Conference and the Pearson Educator Preparation Symposium — two gatherings that bring together state officials, EPP leaders, district partners, and researchers who are grappling with the most pressing challenges in educator preparation.
Here is what stood out.
1. States are investing in data quality and public accountability for EPP outcomes.
From Texas to Pennsylvania, states are building more robust systems to track teacher placement, retention, and program performance — and in some cases, making that data publicly visible through dashboards. Oklahoma and Missouri are using platforms like Nimble to track educator vacancies in real time. The message is clear: data transparency is no longer optional. It is becoming the standard.
This is exactly why we built EEPro the way we did. Programs that invest in clean, structured data now will be far ahead when state accountability expectations increase.
2. Alternative routes — Residencies, Apprenticeships, and Grow Your Own programs — are gaining real momentum.
States like Oklahoma, Michigan, California, and New Mexico are not just talking about alternative certification — they are actively scaling it. The policy environment is shifting in meaningful ways, and programs that have the infrastructure to track candidates, mentors, and outcomes across these pathways are the ones that will grow with confidence.
3. Retention may be the bigger crisis — and preparation quality matters more than we realized.
Two findings from the conference deserve serious attention from every program leader:
Research presented by AASPA highlighted that teacher attrition — teachers leaving the classroom — is actually a larger crisis than the pipeline challenge. Recruiting teachers into the profession is not enough if the conditions push them out.
Research from NCTQÂ found that when student teachers complete their clinical experience in schools that resemble the type of school where they intend to work, their first year is measurably more successful.
These findings reinforce something we believe deeply: the quality of the clinical preparation experience — the mentorship, the placement, the reflection, the data behind the candidate's growth — is not a compliance checkbox. It is the foundation of a sustainable educator workforce.
New in Educator Preparation Program Management: Mentor Profiles and Enhanced Candidate Profiles Are Live
Two features we're especially proud of just went live in Equate Ed — and they speak directly to what the research above is telling us.
Mentor Profiles
Mentors are one of the most influential forces in a candidate's preparation — and yet, in most programs, mentor information is scattered, inconsistently tracked, and hard to act on. Mentor Profiles in EEPro change that.
Program administrators can now:
Understand a mentor's purpose and goals
Track credentials, accolades, and professional development
View a mentor's full history of placements over time
This gives programs a real picture of who their mentors are — and the data to make smarter, more intentional placement decisions.
Enhanced Candidate Profiles
Candidates are whole people, not just data points. Enhanced Candidate Profiles add depth and personalization to how programs understand and support the people in their pipelines.
New additions include:
What's My Why — candidates share their motivation for entering the profession
Support Needs and Preferences — so programs can personalize the experience
Short-term and Long-term Goal Setting — with structured reflection over time
These enhancements make Equate Ed more than a compliance and tracking system. They make it a genuine development tool — one that honors the complexity and humanity of becoming an educator.
Welcome, Sivatharun
We are thrilled to welcome Sivatharun to the Equate Education team as our newest Systems Engineer.
Sivatharun recently completed his Master's in Computer Science at the University of Bridgeport and brings expertise as a Cloud Solutions Architect and experienced software developer. He will be working closely with me on integrating Equate Ed with systems like Banner, and on building the next version of our platform — advancing our roadmap, aligning with industry standards, and building toward what the field truly needs.
Having Sivatharun on the team is a significant step forward for our technical capacity and our ability to serve programs at scale. We're glad he's here.
The Momentum Is Real
A new partnership. New features. A growing team. Conversations with the field confirming that what we're building is what programs need right now.
We don't take any of this lightly. The educator workforce crisis is real, and the programs working to solve it deserve technology that works as hard as they do.
If you're working in educator preparation and want to see what Equate Ed can do for your program, we'd love to talk.
